About Us
This comprehensive website regarding liver disease, the liver transplant process and organ donation was conceived after Larry, a 61-year-old retired auto body shop owner, received a successful liver transplant at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California. His positive experiences with his doctors and other health professionals and employees at CPMC, as well as plain gratefulness for being alive inspired him to construct this site as a way of “paying it forward.”
Larry wanted to provide a forum in which individuals from all corners and stages of the liver disease and transplant process, including family members, caregivers, significant others and donor families, could come together in an online support network to share their experiences, feelings, information and advice. Educating the public about the illness, transplant and recovery process, with an eye toward prevention, is an integral part of the intent of this website.
